Dug by the waters of a stream, that over millennia has made its way through the rock, the caves of Onferno open at the base of the great and unique chalky rock on which once stood the "Castrum hell. " The cave has a development of about 400 m. with a height of 64 m. and one of its characteristics is the presence of large colonies of bats (over 8000 copies). Along the way you find rooms of various sizes, some quite large, others small and rich creations. The most famous cave is the Hall Quirino, also known as the Hall of Mamelon for large conical protuberances protruding from the plaster ceiling. These mammelloni, spectacular in size and number, are among the largest in Europe.
